Art walks are a thing.
From San Jose to Oakland, galleries open their doors to art appreciators and artists-a chance for the community to experience the local art scene. South First Fridays is a cozier, less organized version of Oakland Art Murmur, but that isn’t to say there weren’t a handful of standout works.
Joseph Loughborough’s gilded charcoal drawings, Jennifer Caviola’s bloodied Schiele-esque brides, and Mariya Milovidova’s intricate silk scarves were among the few.
Conclusion? Liven up dead week on Dec. 5th and take an art walk.
