Money Heist in Spanish language ( La casa de papel) is a Spanish Crime drama series. The television series is created by Alex Pina. Netflix acquired the global streaming rights of the show in late 2017.
The series was filmed in Madrid, Spain. Important portions of Season 3 and Season 4 were filmed in Panama, Thailand, and Italy (Florence). The narrative is told in real-time concept and uses flashbacks, time-jumps, hidden character motivations, and an unreliable narrator for the complexity of the story. The series overturns the heist genre by being told from the perspective of a woman, Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó), who had a strong Spanish identity. The emotional dynamics in the show balance the perfect strategic crime.
The series went on to receive several awards including best drama series at the 46th International Emmy Awards, as well as critical acclaim for its sophisticated plot, interpersonal dramas, direction, and for bringing an innovative Spanish television series. The Italian anti-fascist song “Bella ciao,” which plays multiple times in the series, became a summer hit all across Europe in the year 2018. By 2018, the series was the most-watched non-English language series and one of the most-watched series overall on Netflix by Non-European viewers.

There will be a season 5 for Money Heist, as confirmed by Alex Pina earlier in July 2020. The shooting was delayed due to Covid-19. Talking about the cast’s situation as Itziar Ituño, who portrays Raquel Murillo’s character, was covid positive. Everything seems fine, and the shooting is almost wrapped up. All we have to do is wait for an official date to be announced by the team of the show.
