Queen Elizabeth II died at age 96. She had ruled Britain for the longest time. Furthermore, she headed for seventy years. Her 73-year-old oldest son, Charles, has ascended to the throne.

Owing to it, the royal family has assembled at her Balmoral home in the Scottish Highlands. Further, she spent her final days there with King Charles, his grandchildren, and their families. Also, grand celebrations were held in June to honor the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and her 70 years of service to the country.

Queen Elizabeth surpassed her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, in 2015. It is to become the British Queen with the longest reign. She now holds the record for the longest reigning monarch in history.

The Queen thanked the country in a letter, expressing her gratitude. It is for being “humbled and sincerely affected” as the UK marked her Platinum Jubilee milestone with royal parades, street celebrations, and pomp. She wrote, “There is no manual to follow regarding how to honor 70 years as your Queen. It’s a first, for sure.” 

Ceremonies not Attended by the Queen

Due to health issues, the she could not attend several ceremonies. But Prince Charles and Prince William, the next in line, did them. After the Jubilee Pageant, the Queen appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Only Monarch known

She was the only monarch by knowing most of her subjects. And she is revered in popular culture and depicted on coins, banknotes, and stamps. She saw the potential connections between several of the biggest royal scandals. Moreover, it includes Charles and Diana’s divorce. Between Jeffrey Epstein, a man convicted of abusing children, and her second son, Prince Andrew. Likewise, Harry and Meghan no longer choose to be part of the royal family.

The Queen was present during the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy. Additionally, she was present when the Berlin Wall fell, the moon landed, and the COVID pandemic. 

Also, she witnessed 14 British Prime Ministers, from Winston Churchill to Liz Truss, during her tenure. Also, she made history by placing Liz Truss in Balmoral, Scotland, as she could not travel back to London due to her illness.
