Actor Anne Heche breathes her last a week after car crash

The actress Anne Heche passed just a week after a vehicle collision claimed her life. Actress Anne Heche, renowned for her roles in films including “Donnie Brasco” and “Six Days, Seven Nights,” slammed into a home in Los Angeles’ Mar Vista neighborhood.

Heche earned a Daytime Emmy in 1991 for her performance on the soap opera “Another World,” where she became widely known. While performing in the Broadway production of “Twentieth Century,” she received a Tony Award nomination in 2004.

An official death certificate was issued for Hollywood actor Anne Heche on Friday, a week after she was involved in a car accident that resulted in her death, a representative for the family confirmed.

Heche, 53, had been comatose in hospital with severe brain damage since the catastrophic incident on August 5. “Today, we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyous person, a loving mother, and a faithful friend,” the family said in a statement. “Anne will be sorely missed, but her legacy will continue via her two handsome kids, her groundbreaking body of work, and the causes she so fervently championed. Her message of love and acceptance will have a lasting effect since she dares to speak her mind constantly.

Heche, famous for her roles in the 1990s films “Donnie Brasco” and “Six Days, Seven Nights”. She was also talk-of-the-town for her high-profile relationship with talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres. According to the Los Angeles Flames Department, the forceful impact caused “structural compromise and… significant fire” at the location. The agency reported that it took 59 firefighters more than an hour to bring the fire under control and put it out completely.

Local media claimed Thursday that preliminary tests of Heche’s blood had returned positive for narcotics. However, more was needed to prove the drugs had not been supplied during her treatment. According to TMZ, Heche tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl, the latter commonly used as a pain reliever in clinical settings, citing anonymous police sources.

Condolences from friends and family for Anne Heche

Homer Laffoon, Heche’s son, said in a separate statement, “My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom.”

“Hopefully, my mum is free from suffering and beginning to explore what I like to think as her eternal freedom,” he added.

A friend of the actress, Nancy Davis, posted on Instagram early on Friday, “Heaven has a new Angel. My beloved, kind, amusing, lovable, and gorgeous buddy @anneheche has gone to Heaven. I have so many happy memories with her that help eases the pain of losing her.

Ellen DeGeneres, formerly in a relationship with Heche, expressed her sadness over the news on Twitter. My heart goes out to Anne’s kids and extended family and friends.
