Shrek 5: Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz Returning in 2022 with the Sequel

Shrek 5: The Shrek Movie by Jeffrey in 2004 clearly said that the movie is going to have a total of 5 sequels. The movies would consequently answer the questions and at last, would reveal the story behind Shrek being Shrek. It was said in 2007 that the movie will be on the screens by 2013 but they are yet to work on the production of the film.

Shrek 5: Cast-

The Shrek 5 by the Dreamwork Animations produced by Jeffrey Katzenberg promises to bring back Actor Eddie Murphy as the donkey best friend of Shrek and Actress Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona or Shrek‘s wife. 

All the cast in the Shrek by The Universal Production has not yet been announced but there’s a certainty that Mike Myers will be rolling as the protagonist Shrek and we might see the other two key actors too.

After the 4th sequel which was declared to be the last in the series, the title of the remake Shrek 5 has not been announced yet. The title is unnamed as of now and will be clarifying both the last title and the story of Shrek Forever After.

Shrek 5 In 2009 the production team announced that the 4th Movie in the series titled Shrek Forever After is the last one in the sequel. Later in 2010, writer Josh explained that Jaffrey has decided to end the journey of Shrek’s life right there.

In 2014, Jaffrey left a clue in an interview with Fox Business Network saying that they have given the characters a rest period. He said there’s going to be another chapter and it’s not breaking off.

Later in 2016, DreamWorks Animation was acquired by NBC Universal. The president of the company, Steve Burke discussed the remake of the movie and according to 2016 reports the movie was scheduled to be released in 2019.

In 2017, it was revealed that Michael McCullers incredibly has made a completely new script based on his imagination and the movie will be released by 2020. Due to Covid-19, the movie creation took a break and we might expect the big blockbuster to be released somewhere in September 2022.
