From October 2013 to March 2016, an anime television series adaption aired. Ace of Diamond Act 2 was adapted into an anime series that ran from April 2019 to March 2020.
Ace of Diamond won the Shogakukan Manga Awards for the shonen category in 2008. It was awarded the Kodansha Manga Award for best shonen manga in 2010.

Eijun Sawamura, a baseball pitcher with a very unique changeup pitch that has developed spontaneously, is the focus of the series. Sawamura intends to attend a nearby high school with his buddies and play baseball to the best of their ability. However, a scout from Seidou High approaches him and offers him a scholarship and an opportunity to compete at the national level.

Later we see in the chapters that, Sawamura decides to visit the school, and his entire view on the future is changed as a result. During the summer competition, Seidou and their major opponents aim to assist the upperclassmen to make it to nationals.

The upperclassmen will be compelled to retire after the summer competition is over, but how far can Sawamura aid them when he presently has no control? The second season follows Sawamura, Furuya, Haruichi, and Miyuki as they lead a new squad through the fall competition, along with a few returning characters. Their far-fetched objective is to qualify for nationals during the fall tournament and persuade Coach Kataoka not to retire.
