One Piece is an anime series that is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga of the same name. It was first premiered on Fuji TV and was produced by Toei Animation and was directed by Konosuke Uda, Munehisa Sakai, and Hiroaki Miyamoto.
Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy whose body has gained the qualities of rubber after mistakenly eating a mystical fruit, and his gang of various pirates, known as the Straw Hat Pirates, are the stars of One Piece. Luffy’s main aim is to acquire One Piece, the world’s most valuable treasure, and thereby become the next King of the Pirates.

The series has 39 different theme songs: 21 for the opening and 18 for the finale. Toei Animation has published many CDs containing the theme music and additional tunes. Individual volumes were released monthly after the first DVD compilation was released on February 21, 2001.
