About Higanjima.
Higanjima is a Japanese manga series written by Koji Matsumoto. The series was later adapted into a live-action film in 2010. It was serialized in the Weekly Young Magazine between 2002 till 2010. The first tankobon volume was released back in 2003 on April 4. The same is collected into 33 tankobon volumes the last one being published on December 6, 2010.
The sequel of the same was released on October 2, 2010, until July 28, 2014. The sequel is tiled as Higanjima Saigo no 47. Almost 16 volumes of the same were released by 6th January,2011and September 5,2014. Another sequel of the same-titled Higanjima 48 Nichigo was released in the year 2014. It was serialized for the first on August 18, 2014. Its first volume was published on December 5, 2014. As of April 6, 2020, 24, volumes of the same are published.
Story of Higanjima
The series is based on the life of Akira Miyamoto. At the beginning of the series, Akira realizes that his older brother went missing. Soon after that his family breaks and faces a huge loss in the business. Because of which his after turns into an alcoholic. He is always compared with his missing brother.
He has a crush on a girl named Yuki. But Yuki is already in a relationship with Ken. One fine day Akira finds an unconscious girl right in front of his house. She has Atsushi’s ID card claims that he is still alive. She is named Rei Aoyama. Rei informs Akira that his brother is trapped on Higanjima Island, the island is inhabited by vampires.

To help his brother Akira invites his friends. He told everyone that he wants to celebrate his graduation and is going on vacation with his friends. On the way, their boat is attacked by vampires and they capture them all. Somehow Rei manages to escape. Akira too escapes along with his friends before their blood is drained. He meets Atsushi who informs them about vampires’ master Miyabi. All the friends get united and decide to attack Miyabi and his army to go home safely.
