Caitlyn Jenner has announced that she will be running for governor of California in the upcoming California gubernatorial recall election. The special election will be the second gubernatorial recall election in the state of California. Jenner announced through Twitter that she is running for the governer to challenge Democratic Gavin Newsom. She had reportedly filed the required inital paperwork to run for governer.
The retired decathlete may have ex-Trump aides by her side, but several personalities and Bill Maher are certiainly opposing her decesion. Bill Maher, the “Real Time” host brutally mocked television personality on Friday after she decided to run for governer. However, the liberal commentator’s mockery garnered backlash online and called them transhphobic. One wrote that why is he still on TV eventhough he isn’t funny.
Caitlyn Jenner ready to challenge Newsom to remove him from office
The transgender rights activist officially announced her participation in the election through Twitter. Millions of Californians reportedly want to remove Newsom from the office. Apart from Caitlyn, several other Republicans have annoucned their bid for governer, including businessman John Cox and former Republican Doug Ose. Kevin Faulconer, the former Mayor of San Diego has also announced his candidacy.
Axios reported that a group of prominent GOP strategists are behind Jenner in her bid for governer. Tony Fabrizio, who previously worked as pollster in Donal Trump’s 2016 and 2020 is aiding Jenner in her candidacy. Also, Steven Cheung will be aiding Jenner in her first ever bid for governer. Cheung was part of the succesfull 2003 recall election of popular Hollywood actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Brad Parscale had helped Jenner to form the team, but wouldn’t be the official member of the campaign. Parscale is Trump’s former campaign manager and Jenner’s personal friend. Bill Maher called the reacll election stupid and took at decathlete’s GOP credentials. The television personality in her statement for running as a governer slammed the current governer Newsom.
The transgender rights activist complained the high taxes of the Golden State. She also shared her frustration at Newsom’s over-restrictive lockdown rules during the coronavirus pandemic. Jenner also slammed that the state has been suffered by the party that focuses on politics over the progress.
