The CW has finally found its Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault are all set to join the cast. As the lead in the network’s upcoming live-action venture “The Powerpuff Girls”.
Helmed by Maggie Kiley, The Powerpuff Girls live-action series was announced back in August last year. Based on the Cartoon Network series, created by Craig MacCracken.The Powerpuff Girls follows the life of Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles, the pint-sized superheroes. Who used to save America from every disaster, especially from the villainous plans of evil Monkey ‘Mojo-Jojo’. Now they’re disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting. The question here arises is that will they unite again to save the world from evilness?
Chloe Bennet is going to play the adult version of Blossom:
Chloe Bennet is going to play the adult version of Blossom, the red little-miss-perfect Powerpuff Girl. Blossom is now a highly educated, anxious girl. Who spent her whole life-fighting kiddie-superhero trauma. Her aim in life is to become the leader again but with her own rules.
Dove Cameron is cast to portray the role of Bubbles, the Powerpuff girl with blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. Who won America’s heart with her sugary and endearing personality. Initially, her interest was in regaining her old charm. And fame more than saving the world but it seems like life has something else planned for her.
Yana Perrault will be seen playing Buttercup, the badass and rebellious green Powerpuff girl. Buttercup spent her adulthood brushing off her Powerpuff girl fame and trying to live a low-key anonymous life.
Cameron can into light after Day-time Emmy for her marvelous performance in Disney’s Liv and Maddie. She also garnered some appreciation. And positive critics for her role in Descendents and Hairspray Live! She’s repped by LBI, A3 Artists Agency, and Felker Toczek.
Bennet gained popularity after her tremendous role of Skye in Marvel’s Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and was also recurred as Hailey on Nashville. Whereas Perrault was last seen on Broadway in the Alanis Morissette musical Jagged Little Pill.
Scripted by Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody, The Powerpuff Girl will be produced by Berlanti Productions and Vita Vera Films in association with Warner Bros. Television.
