In a recent article Variety reported Lucasfilm’s announcement of dropping Gina. According to Lucasfilm: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm, and there are no plans for her to be in the future.” A spokesperson of Lucasfilm explained: “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
However rumors are Gina Carano’s character Cara Dun will be chopped off too. Before the third series arrives, a spin-off series for Cara Dune was in talks by creators. But there are no official announcements whether any of this will happen.
Carano’s Abhorrent Posts
In last week of February Gina made several posts on Instagram, which were crashing independent political views. One of them was on political similarities between Trump adversaries and Jews. She wrote: “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
This is not the first time Carano posted something out of the blue. She even mocked people who are wearing masks during Corona. She posted a photo on Instagram of a person wearing several masks for safety, she wrote in caption: “Meanwhile in California…” Gina later deleted the posts out of backlash.
Gina is notable for her Trump support. She opposed the election system in US just like Trump. She took to Twitter and wrote: “We need to clean up the election process so we are not left feeling the way we do today. Put laws in place that protect us against voter fraud.”
In August fans asked Carano to put a post to support BLM. She didn’t agree instead she post against her fans. According to Carano: “In my experience, screaming at someone that they are racist when they are indeed NOT a racist & any post and/or research you do will show you those exact facts, then I’m sorry, these people are not ‘educators’. They are cowards and bullies.” However, after this incident Carano’s supporters are trending #CancelDisneyPlus.
