In that previous episode of WandaVision, Evans Peters comes on the last scene. Peters introduces himself as Wanda’s long lost brother Pietro Maximoff. This leads to the wholesome strange explanation that the series is trying to imply. According to the MCU, Aron Taylor-Johnson had played the role of Pietro. He was killed by Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Also, Evan Peters has played Peter Maximoff in X-Men movies. They are the same character but from different universes.
Fans are confused how come X-Men’s Peter suddenly becomes MCU’s Pietro. This total incident indicates that somehow MCU is finally introducing X-Men to its own storyline. Though it can be possible as Fox and Marvel have agreed to merge their universes. But these sudden recast needs a proper explanation from Marvel.
Is it Pietro or Mephisto?
Fans are also wondering that this Pietro is not real. He can be Wanda’s one of the arch-enemy Mephisto in disguise. In the original comics, Wanda’s twin son Tommy and Billy are born from Mephisto’s soul. And the devil later comes to collect the boys. The plot can be introduced to the live-action series. However, in the scene, Wanda seems perplexed after watching Pietro.
Till now Wanda has messed up the reality several times. This sudden appearance can be one of her doings. In the comics, Mephisto punishes Wanda to falsify the reality for her own sake and he locks her in her own world. Though it is still not sure whether the plotline will come in the next episode. Until then we have to wait.
Episode 5 titled ‘On a Very Special Episode’, is set in 1980’s America. Here fans see Vision and Wanda struggling through parenthood. Agnes comes to help them but Vision denies it. Suddenly their children Billy and Tommy grow up to 5 years then to 10 years. In many occasions, Wanda almost reveals her true self to Agnes. Vision gets a concerning email from S.W.O.R.D regarding their town West View.
Vision inspects and notices that Wanda is controlling the whole West View to keep her reality trouble-free. To kill Wanda, Hayward sends a drone to the town, but Wanda destroys it. Wanda gets annoyed and warns the S.W.O.R.D to leave her alone. In the home, Vision confronts Wanda and the couple gets into a fight.
They both almost face-off using their powers but suddenly get interrupted by a man. He claims himself Wanda’s Pietro. Wanda gets tensed. In the real world watching these Darcy jokes if Wanda had re-casted her own brother.
However, in the upcoming episode, the real reason for Pietro’s arrival will become clear. S.W.O.R.D might try again to kill Wanda. Vision and Wanda will go through new consequences. Episode 6 will be released on February 12, 2021.
