One of our favorite actors-Mark Hamill will no more be a part of the Star Wars universe as his famous character Like Skywalker. Disney is now looking for a new face and wants to cast the very talented Sebastian Stan as a young Like Skywalker. Read till the end to know the complete details.
Why did Mark Hamill leave the Star Wars universe?
Mark Hamill confirmed that he will not fit into the character of Luke anymore. When asked about the matter in an interview, Mark said,”I had a beginning, middle, and end. Those films gave me far more than I ever expected. My farewell was in Episode IX and it was bittersweet. I love all those people and I certainly have affection for George and the character he created. I am full of gratitude for what it has given me and my career but I don’t want to be greedy”.
He continued,”There are still so many stories to tell and so many actors to tell them, they don’t need me”. So basically, Mark wants other actors to play his role as young Luke Skywalker and feels he is no more required. He appeared as Like in the last movie The Mandalorian.
Disney found its perfect Luke Skywalker in Sebastian Stan?
Disney is most likely to cast Sebastian Stan as young Luke Skywalker. The main reason behind this is Sebastian’s popularity in Marvel Cinematic Universe as Bucky Barnes. According to a Google Search, fans have done a comparison between Sebastian and a young Mark Hamill’s pictures. Surprisingly, it came out to be quite similar.
Moreover, some people said that Mark is now too old to do the action scenes which is expected from a character like Luke Skywalker. Besides this, Daniel Richtman said that Lucasfilm has changed their mind and instead of de-aging Mark Hamill, they have decided to cast Sebastian Stan in the role of young Luke Skywalker for the upcoming movies and series.
Is Sebastian ready to play this promising character?
So, coming onto the main person of the whole matter. Sebastian has shown his interest for thr role as Luke Skywalker long time ago. In 2017 Sebastian said, “I just want to say that anytime anyone would like to call me and ask me about Luke Skywalker, I’d be very happy”.
As of 2021, Sebastian is already involved in many MCU projects. But the final confirmation is yet to come from Disney whether they are going to launch Sebastian as Luke Skywalker.
