The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 5: Liz goes Rogue and The Freelancer Returns, Release Date, Preview and Spoilers

After eight amazing seasons, The Blacklist has finally revealed who is at the top of the Blacklist. Fans wonder it might be the mastermind criminal Raymond Reddington himself, but he is not. The number one spot on this blacklist goes to Elizabeth Keen, who has now gone full rouge away from the Task Force and Reddington. Liz tried to turn Reddington’s associates on her side, after a failed assassination attempt on Raymond.

Task Force’s beloved and brilliant agent turned criminal after Raymond Reddington killed Liz’s mother, Katarina Rostova in front of her in the eighth season’s second episode. Reddington, who survived the fatal attack orchestrated by Liz, goes to see FBI Assitant Director Harold Cooper and enlist Liz on the top of the Blacklist. Harold and Reddington believe that they have to stop her before she does something horrible, from which there’s no coming back, ever again.

The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 5 returns on NBC on Friday, February 5, 2021. After an almost two months break, the show started airing on the network and will continue releasing on usual weekly time slot. There isn’t information about who will be directing the episode of the title would be called, The Fribourg Confidence. Also, a Blacklister from the past resurfaces in the next episode.

The Blacklist Season 8 Episode 5 Preview

In the previous episode, which revealed that Elizabeth Keen is the number one Blacklister, Liz tries to run away from the city. Liz, along with her associate Esi are on a journey to find all the 86 dead bodies that Mr Kaplan buried in an earlier season, evidence that will put end to Red’s criminal empire. She remembers a list of Red’s associates and tries to turn them against Red and join her. However, all of them declines and commits to Red’s loyalty.

Liz then belives that Red’s lawyer, Marvin Gerrard may turn against him and goes to meet him. She even offers him a fifty-fifty partnership, so that he could leave him and join her. Liz brilliantly uses Ressler to make Red think that Gerrard has betrayed him. Red confronts Gerrard and tortures him, while giving access of one of his bank account to his assistant, Skip. However, it turns out, Marvin was loyal and Skip teamed up with Liz to steal 35 million from Red.

The Freelancer will make his return in the upcoming episode, who previously appeared in the second episode of the first season. Meanwhile, the Task Force and Red tries to apprehend the bank robbers who steal from other criminals.
