OnePlus is officially going to enter the smartwatch market in 2021 with its flagship wearable device, simply called OnePlus Watch. The smartphone manufacturing company’s CEO, Pete Lau confirmed the news through a tweet on his official Twitter handle. OnePlus Watch is definitely coming, but at the moment, we don’t know any specific details about the device.
Lau also mentioned in his tweet that the new smartwatch is coming in early 2021. This means that the OnePlus Watch will compete against already popular smartwatches in the market — the Apple Watch Series 6 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. That’s not it, the smartphone company is also planning to release a low-cost alternative to OnePlus Watch and a fitness tracker, the OnePlus Band.
Many of you said you wanted a watch, and as you might have heard over the weekend—we're making one, to be released early next year. Wishes do come true.🎁 https://t.co/H1Fqv9srXj

OnePlus Watch Release Date
There isn’t a specific release date, however, we can expect the launch date in early 2021. The first three months of 2021 seemed to be the perfect launch window for the manufacturing giant. There are high chances that the Watch will arrive alongside the company’s next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 9. OnePlus generally releases a new phone in a six-month gap, so we can expect it by mid-March 2021.
OnePlus Watch Price
OnePlus has always delivered premium features in its devices at lower-cost than the likes of Apple and Samsung. Although there isn’t solid information regarding the OnePlus watch, we can assume it would cost less than Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch. The best assumption would be around US $ 200 to US $ 250 for the entry-level OnePlus Watch.
OnePlus Watch Features
Again, there aren’t specific details about the features of the brand-new since it is the first time that the company is releasing Watch. However, we can somehow affirm that the device will feature the latest WearOS, developed by Google specifically for wearables. OnePlus also tweeted a rough sketch of what appeared to be the design of the upcoming OnePlus Watch.
A renowned leaker with a good record claimed that the new watch would look similar to the rough sketch. Also, the leaks suggest that the wearable will feature the newest wearable processor, the Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset.
