In this episode, Danny and Jamie Reagan convicted a drug lord. Even though Joe was off-duty, he gets into the spotlight for saving a little girl from a kidnapper. This incident led him to become a hero and a face for the NYPD. However, this posed a problem as Frank and Paula did not want his “secret” to be out there. This “secret” being Joe is the illegitimate son of Joe Reagan and Paula Hill. This was revealed at the end of Season 10.
