On Thursday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Khloé Kardashian defended her sister against the many subsequent memes and critics accusing the reality TV star and her family of being out of touch with, well, reality.
“I haven’t heard a lot about it, but I did hear that people were upset that we all went out of town,” she told DeGeneres. “I don’t really know the extent of it, but this year is a frustrating year. I get it. I think there’s so many frustrations going on for everybody. There were photos of Kim Kardashian West embracing her siblings on the beach, throwing up peace signs next to friends and raising a glass to celebrate her birthday on a private island in Tahiti — no face masks or social distancing required.
If you wanted to “pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time,” you might go for a walk around the nearest park, buy yourself an ice cream or, if you are Kim Kardashian-West, ask your “closest inner circle” to quarantine for two weeks in order to attend your birthday party at a secret location on a private island.
The reality TV superstar shared the details of her 40th birthday celebration at an undisclosed location with her 67.1 million followers – along with photographs from the event. She sure had fun but also made a meme out of herself after this selfish move.
