Attack on Titan Season 5
Attack On Titan (also known as Shingeki No Kyojin) is a dark fantasy anime. It has themes of action, adventure, apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic world. It follows the world where the humans have build 3 enormous walls to protect themselves against the giant Titans, who devour humans. The anime starts with the breaking of one wall by the Colossal Titan which leads to destruction and chaos. The story follows Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert who escape from the titans during the breach of the wall, join the scout’s regiment, and pledge to kill all of the titans to free the world.
The Attack on Titan Manga written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama released the last chapter on 9th April 2021. The anime has faithfully stuck to the manga. This has only added to the hype of the anime and the reason to know the release date among the anime fans as well as Manga fans. The manga was adapted and produced by WIT studio but later for Season 4 Mappa studios took over the production. The manga ended in Chapter 139, the last episode that is the 75th episode of the series ended up by adapting chapter 116. Therefore, the 76th episode would adapt the manga chapter 117, the total remaining chapters to be adapted are 23. So, 23 chapters worth of plot is to be expected in Part 2.
Attack on Titan would not have season 5 but instead, just like season 3, it would have Season 4 part 2, as Season 4 was already publicized as The Final Season. The manga fans know how much story is still remaining to be covered in the remaining part of the season. There were many theories that there would be a movie instead of another season or part, but it has been made clear and the most likely possibility always was a second part for Season 4. It also has been officially confirmed by the Attack on Titan Twitter account.
Attack on Titan Season 5: Release Date
We can expect Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 to be released by January 2022, as the anime is announced to be released in Winter. Mappa studios shared a short teaser of just 15 seconds length to go along with the official announcement of the show’s return for Part 2. Other than that there has been nothing announced yet, not even the exact date of release.
A released teaser about the 76th episode:
What to expect:
Season 4 beginning showed the ‘Marley’ arc introducing and showing the background of Marley and the characters such as the Eldian warriors and young warrior candidates and the military plan to recover the founding titan. Then there was the attack on Marley by Eren which led to his inheriting of War Hammer Titan. Gabi and Falco getting captured, Zeke’s betrayal to Marley, Pieck’s trap for Eren on the roof. The Finale of Part 1 episode 16 ended with Marley’s retaliation.
Season 4 ending left us with many questions like what happened to Levi? Will the war ever end between Marley and Paradis Island? What is Eren planning really? What would happen to Falco? Would there be some kind of redemption for Eren? Who wins, who loses? Part 2 will answer all these questions. Season 4 Part 1 was slow and took a while to build but it was worth it, Part 2 would be fully packed with the finale action and story, and with less time and more plot to cover it is likely to be a little fast-paced. The Manga readers already know exactly what to expect and they are still looking forward to seeing it get adopted.
Episode 17 of Season 4 which is to be the first episode of Part 2, is titled ‘Judgement’ which would premiere on January 2022. Previously, the anime has had as many as 25 episodes in one season. Therefore it is possible and can be expected that Part 2 would include around 9 episodes or even go as far as 16 episodes. It would continue the War for Paradis arc further. So far there is no official count for the number of episodes.
What to expect without getting any major spoiler is we can finally get some new things like history regarding the Titans, Eren’s plan and is he going with his brother’s plan, or does he have any other motive, the Founding Titan’s power reveal. Finally, would there be peace, or do the wars continue?
