Apple TV app will now be available on some Sony Android TVs

Until now Apple TV app has been limited to Apple devices and some non-Apple streaming devices and TVs. But now the Apple TV app will be available on some Sony TVs. Currently, the X900H line of Sony TVs will get the app. Sony has said that they will make it available to some of their 2018 sets and most of their 2019 and 2020 models. And also the app is available only for TVs in the US. Sony has said that they will make it available globally soon.

Only some Sony TVs will get the app

The Apple TV app is still not available to all Android TVs.  Apple has recently started to make their app available on many non-Apple devices. Late last year, the app was made available on Amazon Fire TV. The app is also available on Roku devices and on some select Samsung and LG TVs. Of late Apple has been trying very hard to make its streaming app successful in the ongoing streaming wars. Many believe that the Apple One bundle was mainly aimed towards getting more subscribers for the TV+ app. Apple has also extended the subscription for some of its users.

Anyways, the addition of the Apple TV app on Sony devices is quite good news. Users can use it to watch some great Apple originals like ‘The Morning Show’ or ‘See’. The Channels feature also allows users to subscribe to networks like Showtime and Starz. You can share the subscription with up to six people. You can also rent some specific movies or series on the app.
