Comparing the OnePlus 8T with its own OnePlus rivals

OnePlus 8T is a great mobile. It has almost all the features you want your phone to have. And the price at which it’s available makes it an even sweeter deal. But, this year it faces stiff competition. And I am not talking about its competition from companies like Realme or Google. But the competition that it gets from its own siblings, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus Nord. Even though both the devices are of a slightly different price segment. There are a lot of overlapping features. And here in this article, I have tried to note down the difference both the phones have when compared to 8T.

OnePlus 8 Pro is more expensive than 8T and the Nord is cheaper than 8T. But all have the staple features of OnePlus phones like- good battery, great performance, and a high refresh rate screen. But there are some little key differences among all three of them which makes each of them unique.

OnePlus 8 pro

The 8 Pro has the same chipset and the refresh rate as the 8T. It has the same 4,500mAh battery. But, it has some more ‘flagship’ features like wireless charging and water resistance. But, these features don’t come in for cheap. OnePlus 8 Pro is the most expensive OnePlus phone ever. So, buy the OnePlus 8 Pro only if you are looking for those additional features, or else the 8T is more than enough to satisfy your need.

OnePlus Nord

OnePlus returned to its ‘flagship killer’ roots with the Nord. The Nord has everything that an average user might need from its mobile. But the price at which it comes undercuts the majority of its competition. And it is this price that is the Nord’s biggest advantage over the 8T. Nord loses out on many grounds. As it has a weaker processor, a slightly slower refresh rate(90Hz), and slower wired charging(30W). But when you factor in the price, these omissions don’t seem to matter a lot. Like its processor, though not the best is still a very powerful processor. And 90Hz screen and 30W charging are still pretty good. Therefore, if you are on a budget and don’t need extra fast performance, I would certainly recommend you to go for the Nord.

So, this is the comparison of 8T with its own OnePlus rivals. I have not compared it with the OnePlus 8 here. Because I have already done that before (read here). The OnePlus 8T is a great mobile, but before buying it make sure that this is the mobile you need because OnePlus itself might just have another mobile suited for your needs.
