Taylor Swift Digs Up Her Old Country Roots, And Performs “Betty” At The Academy Of Country Music Awards. After all There Is No Place Like Home

If the one and only, Taylor Swift showed up at your party, would you take her back?

The answer to that question, for the Academy of Country Music Awards, was an astounding ‘yes.’ And that is exactly what they did.

Taylor Swift decided to return to her country roots this Wednesday. For the first time in seven years. She performed her song “Betty” off of her latest album, ‘Folklore’. This album was released in July and was entirely made during the coronavirus lockdown.

Taylor Swift wore a pair of khaki pants and a sequined turtleneck. She was seated in front of a glowing stage light. It was an appropriately subdued performance for the sweet love song. It was just her guitar and a harmonica player. The outfit was by none other than Stella McCartney, who Taylor has mentioned in one of her previous songs, off of her lover album.

The two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year winner, Taylor Swift performed at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House. This was where Keith Urban hosted the ACMs. Artists like Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, and Morgan Wallen all took the stage.

Swifties had a to of speculation regarding who the song was about? Was it about a teenage love triangle or a queer canon? Well, swifties have finally gotten their answer.

“Everybody makes mistakes, everybody really messes up sometimes, and this is a song that I wrote from the perspective of a 17-year-old boy,” Swift said. “I’ve always loved that in music you can kinda slip into different identities and you can sing from other people’s perspectives. So that’s what I did on this one.” After all who does acoustic better than Taylor Swift?
