Dragon Age 4: Trailer reveal and more

The Dragon Age series of games is a fantasy Role-Play video Game (RPG) by Canadian developer BioWare. The first installment of the series was released in late 2009, and since then, has gone on to become one of the best RPGs.

Our latest peek of the upcoming Dragon Age 4 reveals the mystery behind it.

The wait for the next one:

Ever since the ending of Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Final DLC, fans and gamers have been eyeing to lay their hands on its successor. Mark Darrah, the Executive Producer of the Dragon Age franchise is an avid Twitterati, retweeting fan’s works and teasing them with mysterious tweets.

During an Opening Night Live event at Gamescom 2020, Mark Darrah, along with other producers revealed concept art from the game and spoke on the return of some of the game’s favorite characters.

Electronic Arts (EA) didn’t mention Dragon Age but did implicate to it, during an EA Live event. It said, “BioWare imagines and creates worlds where you become the hero of your own story. And when we’re using this next generation of technology to make that fantasy worlds your reality”.

A variety of new locations can be seen from the footage, including what appears to be an underwater empire. Also seen were some new characters introduced to the game.

Considering the series’ history of reusing its characters, one can expect to see a handful of characters from the game’s previous iterations. Keeping the tradition of introducing a new hero in every new adventure, one can expect the same in this season as well.

Solas and Flemeth, are considered to be the characters around which the series revolves. Solas’ voice can be heard in the trailer of the game, confirming the character’s presence in the series.

For those not familiar with the series. Dread Wolf refers to Fen’Harel, the elven God of betrayal, having ties with Solas. The trailer also features a red lyrium idol, similar to the one found in Dragon Age 2.

When’s the reveal happening?

Although the game has been said to be in development since 2015, there isn’t a concrete release date yet. According to a report, the team at BioWare has pulled away from the Dragon Age series. Work on other projects, namely, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem.

The project of Dragon Age 4 was resumed in 2017 and if reports are to be believed. One can expect the game to be released by April 2022.
