The story follows Yatora Yaguchi who’s quite a popular student. He’s a second-year high school student. Despite excelling at school, he feels empty and frustrated. He’s tired of normal life. Although he seems to be living and enjoying his life with his friends, he has an inner void. He’s jealous of those who do things differently. But his monotonous life comes to an end when he discovers the joy of drawing. One day he becomes fascinated by a painting at his high school’s art club. He’s mesmerized by the colors in it. He’s so deeply inspired that it made him try painting.

After that, he’s inspired by a friend named Ryuji Ayukawa and so he joins the art club. He becomes more deeply involved in painting and he attempts to apply for the Tokyo University of the Arts as his choice of college. In an art exercise, he tries to convey his emotions without words but instead through painting.

After that experience, Yatora finds himself so invested in art so he decides to make a career out of it. But it’s not so simple as he has to face many obstacles in his way. His parents hesitate about his choices. He has to level up to his more experienced peers. He also has to understand a subject that surpassed his initial expectations.
