Yumi’s Cells is a South Korean television series starring Kim Go-Eun, Ahn Bo-Hyun, Jinyoung, Lee Yu-bi, and Park Ji-Hyun and directed by Lee Sang-yeob. It is a cell-based psychological romance based on the eponymous webtoon that unravels the daily lives of an ordinary office worker Yumi via the eyes of the cells in her mind.
The series debuted on tvN on September 17, 2021, and is shown every Friday and Saturday at 10:50 p.m. (KST). It was also available on TVING, an internet streaming service, at the same time. TVING stated on September 8, 2021, that the drama has sold broadcast rights in over 160 countries worldwide, including Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.

In the series, Yumi (Kim Go-Eun) works at a regular office. Yumi’s real existence and Yumi’s thoughts, where ‘cells’ reflect each of her feelings and desires, alternate regularly in the tale. After a failed relationship, her love cell is in a coma. As her brain cells awaken the love cell, the series will follow her growth and transformation.
Goo Woong (Ahn Bo-Hyun) and her coworkers Ruby (Lee Yu-bi) and Seo Sae-Yi (Park Ji-Hyun) all contribute to the reactivation of her love cells in their unique ways.
The webtoon plot is rather extensive, and the drama has only scratched the surface. As a result, there will be far too many story twists and situations.
In the webtoon narrative, we can also expect in the series that, she had several boyfriends, one of whom was Woong. As a result, a k drama writer may devote a whole season to a single guy. It’s only a guess, and nothing has been verified yet. Even from the stars’ recent interviews, it appears like Yumi and Woong’s romance would be explored further.
