The story revolves around Angela who is trying to prove her worth in a world of glamour, charm, and treasury. She is a black woman and a single mother so you understand nothing turns out easy for Angela. Besides the problems she has been facing in the world, she also has to deal with her family’s complicated history and her mother’s mysterious past that she has been hiding from her for a long time.
In the episode, “Reparations”, Angela joins a social club for ladies to improve her position in society. Leah is the gatekeeper of the same club and it is revealed soon enough that Angela and Leah have something in common. They both have the same father, Teddy, who is considered a person of great influence. Leah gets into a disagreement with his father and the argument turns out to be heated.
