Starring Oscar Isaac as Jonathan and Jessica Chastain as Mira, Scenes from a Marriage re-creates Ingmar Bergman’s classic Swedish series of the same name. Isaac and Chastain’s on-screen chemistry is stunning.
Scenes from a Marriage Season 1 Episode 2 revolves around Mira, a confident ambitious tech executive, and Jonathan, an accomodating, hyper-intellectual philosophy professor. Mira is left unfulfilled by her marriage but Jonathan is desperate to keep their relationship intact. It explores love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce when traditional gender roles flip. According to HBO Scenes from a Marriage is “A story about love that’s overtime.”
Mira and Jonathan might look like a happily married couple. They have been together for 10 years and have a young daughter but their relationship is not as simple as that. They are in such a relationship where sparks have already gone and they don’t know what to do with their relationship. Mira doesn’t want to continue this relationship anymore. This five-part television series is emotional and intense.
