The Liden Films adaptation of the anime aired in April 2021. Japan released a live-action film adaptation in July 2021. Over 35 million copies of the manga were in circulation as of August 2021. In 2020, the manga won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category.

Plot
Nagamichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old freeter, learns one day that his middle school ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, as well as her young brother Naoto, had been killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang. Takemichi teleports back 12 years to 2005 after being pushed in front of a train. Takemichi tells Naoto the exact date he and Hinata will die as he reminisces his middle school years.

Takemichi is suddenly transported back to the present as he shakes hands with Naoto, causing a time paradox where Naoto survives and becomes a detective. Takemichi is transported into the past every time he and Naoto hold hands. To save Hinata, Takemichi draws upon his knowledge of the future.
Mikey and Draken’s dispute is resolved by Takemichi; however, on August 3, 2005, the Tokyo Manji Gang is attacked by a group of Moebius members, who are led by a Valhalla member Shūji Hanma.
Takemichi finds out Peh-yan colluded with them because Mikey and Draken let Pah-chin be arrested, while Kiyomasa stabbed Draken for humiliating him and causing him to be exiled from the Tokyo Manji Gang. Despite his injuries, Draken can recover from the fight won by the Tokyo Manji Gang.

Takemichi agrees with Draken’s statement. Takemichi is reminded of the time when he lost many fights and was punished by older boys at school. After losing the fight, he rolls on the ground and lies on his back, gazing at the sky as he does now. All the time, when Draken does that, everything becomes irrelevant, and he finds peace. Understandably, Takemichi feels that way. Among our few guys who have never fallen on their backs and stared at the sky is Mikey.
