NCIS follows a fictional team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team (MCRT) special agents. The story takes place in Washington, D.C. Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs leads this team. He is a Marine vet and seasoned Investigator. The series also focuses on the close friendships that Chrissy has with the Major Response Team.
As per usual, NCIS Season 18 ended on a cliffhanger. Agent Bishop plotted her own downfall as an NCIS agent. She disappeared and become an off-the-record CIA spy.
Gibbs gets indefinitely suspended and seemingly has no interest in returning to his job at NCIS. In the final scene of Season 18, Gibbs took his boat out for its maiden voyage to look for a possible dumped body. But as he was sailing along, his boat exploded. Before the screen went dark, Gibbs dove deep and got away.
NCIS Season 19 Episode 01 Release Date
It is expected to be released on September 20, 2021. The episode has been titled “Blood in the Water”. Gibbs’ fate will be addressed in Season 19.
The promo shows that local police have already found the wreckage of Gibbs’ boat and somehow knew to contact NCIS. The episode will revolve around NCIS’ search for Gibbs. The team starts to contemplate that he might not have survived the explosion. Many questions linger in the wake of episode 18. First, will they find Gibbs in the episode? Second, who bombed his boat? Third, did Marcie set him up?
Gibbs could have blown up his own boat to disappear. Perhaps he was getting too close to the killer. Whatever the case may be, McGee, Torres, and their newest member Agent Knight are sure to get to the bottom of it.
