The show revolves around the life of Lahela “Doogie” Kameāloha, a sixteen-year-old teenage girl practicing medicine. She has to overcome all the problems life throws at us as a teenager and as an adult at the same time. The show begins with Lahela trying to acquire her driving license. While learning, she is informed about a car crash to help the victim in regaining blood flow in his legs.
Lahela is close to her first patient who has a heart problem and when she finds out that her mom, who is her boss, has hidden the truth about her patient’s heart transplant, she demands immediate surgery. While she was preparing for her school dance, she gets a call about her patient’s death. She feels broken but Lahela is a strong girl and she will be able to recover soon. She can handle her personal life as well as her work life successfully.
