The plot of A House Through Time:

In the series, David discovers a factory owner with a history of shady business transactions, including an employee tortured to death on the manufacturing floor, when he investigates the affairs of the house’s new inhabitant, Benjamin Wild. The narrative of Mary and Andrew Mellish, whose one-year-old child died of one of the city’s most lethal diseases, is then told by David.
