What Has Happened
Previously in Episode 17, Hayase wins the tournament and becomes the leader of the Janata after drugging Fushi. She believes that she might be executed and passes her rights to Tonari so that the team can execute Tonari instead of her.
Also thinking that she’ll be free to do whatever she wants with Fushi. Hayase’s guards stop Tonari and her friends from saving Fushi. Fushi compromises and makes a deal with her so that she would let the friends go and hold him captive instead.
Since, the rights had been passed Tonari, as the new leader, opts to depart with the team along with Pioran and all the children under the age of 8, so that they can at least live for once. The episode ends with Tonari escaping the ship on a boat in hopes to reach Fushi.
