Kengan Omega is one of the most popular Japanese manga series. It is written by Yabako Sadrovich and illustrated by Doraemon. It is the sequel to Kengan Ashura, which was serialized from April 2012 to August 2018. The first chapter of the sequel was released on January 17, 2019. The chapters released have been compiled into eight tankobon volumes, with the latest chapters still being released.

Storyline

The story of Kengan Omega begins two years after the events of Kengan Ashura. Beginning two years after the game-changing Kengan Annihilation Tournament on Ganryu Island, Narushima Koga, an aspiring fighter, aims to enter Kengan Matches and seek out Tokita Ouma. He begins working under Yamashita Kazuo. He meets Gaou Ryuuki, who is very similar to Ouma.

The manga follows their journey as a massive showdown between the Kengan Association and Purgatory, another underground martial-arts fighting organization looms in the background. It will show how Koga becomes strong enough to enter the legendary Kengan fights.

The first main character is Narushima Koga. He is a hard-working, diligent, and somewhat arrogant young man who thirsts for violent power, because of his defeat to Ouma three years ago. He is short-tempered and can be easily angered, but he can also be polite when he wants to be. He is seeking out Tokito Ouma and is led to Yamashita Trading Company, which trains Kengan fighters.

The second main character is Gaoh Ryuuki, also known as The Dragon King. He is a mysterious individual who appeared out of nowhere and started to enter Kengan matches. He is recruited as a fighter for the Kengan Association. Koga meets him at Yamashita Trading Company.

The third character, Yamashita Kazuo, is a continuing character from Kengan Ashura. He starts as a timid and average person who is a pushover. However, after meeting Ouma and being exposed to the power-seeking Kengan world, he starts to lose his fear of ordinary people. During the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, Yamashita becomes much more brave and respected. He manages Yamashita Trading Company, a liaison company of the Kengan Fighting Association.
