After a year of break due to the distressing coronavirus pandemic, the ninth installment of the Fast Saga, F9 finally landed at the theaters internationally in May. The film will arrive across the theaters in the US starting on June 25, 2021. Over the years, the Fast and the Furious franchise has become one of the popular and commercially successful franchise worldwide.
Universal Pictures have already confirmed that there are two upcoming installments in the development. The Fast Saga will conclude with the upcoming two installment, tenth and eleventh, where all the cast members will return. Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, who had their own movie in the franchise, are also set to return for the next chapter. On the other hand, fans are wondering whether John Cena will return or not.
The ninth installment introduced Dom’s estranged younger brother Jakob, who hold grudge with his older brother. John Cena portrays the younger brother, and he is a high-performance driver like Dom. Furthermore, Jakob is also a master thief and deadly assassin, who joins force with the family’s previous enemy Charlize Theron’s Cipher to take down Dominic Toretto and family.
John Cena wishes to return to the family table in Fast 10
The former professional WWE wrestler, during his interview with MTV International, said that he would be grateful if there would be a place for him on the table in the next installment. He also hopes that he gets to do it again and appear in the Fast universe. Vin Diesel, who portrays the franchise lead character Dom, praised Cena’s performance, and he wishes to work together, again.
F9’s trailer has shown Jakob as a villain, but there are high chances that this is the result of Cipher’s manipulation. Deckard Shaw, who once was on journey to take down the family, later joined the family and became an important part. In Jakob’s case, he is family after all. If Jakob later joins hand with Dom to defeat Cipher in films twist tale, there is enough room for him to return for the thrilling tenth installment. As things stand, there is a high potential that John Cena will reprise his role in F10.
