Joe Biden ANTI-GAY & TRANSGENDER Video Resurfaces and People are Angry

US president Joe Biden’s ‘flip-flop’ moment is disturbing the people. President Biden is seemingly interested and favored to LGBTQ people for their rights. He is even reversing few depriving laws of Trump for LGBTQ people. But recently, a video of his old interview on opposing same-sex marriage has been viral and people are furious. Here are all the details.

Joe Biden’s 2006 Video

In 2006, Biden was interviewed by Tim Russert on the show ‘Meet The Press’. This video has been resurfacing. It features Biden’s old perspective on trans people and their marriage. Russert asked Biden about his declaration on ex-president George Bush’s desire to ban same-sex marriage. Bush wanted the Congress to pass a Federal Marriage Amendment against same-sex marriage in U.S Constitution.

Biden actually voted against the law in 2004. However, he replied to this question as it was not ‘necessary’ to bring this kind of law. US already has Defense of Marriage Act, and he rather insisted on focusing on avian flu and police officers insufficiency. He stated the country to respect the fact that ‘marriage is between a man and a woman’.

Biden told: “We already have a law, the Defense of Marriage Act. We’ve all voted-not, where I’ve voted and others have said. Look, marriage is between a man and a woman and states must respect that.” He added: “Nobody’s violated that law there’s been no challenge to that law. Why do we need a constitutional amendment? Marriage is between a man and a woman.”

Biden’s Change of Mind

Later on his service years, US have seen a change on Biden’s point of view. He’d rather support LGBTQ people by giving them space on his parliament and supporting their rights. In 2012, when Biden was Vice President, he applauded same-sex marriage. He said: “I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual women marrying one another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties.”

Donald Trump used that old video of Biden during 2020 election campaigning. Trump himself scattered views on LGBTQ rights. In May 2021, Biden’s administration has reversed Trump’s law on LGBTQ rights and also providing them with security. The Department of Health and Human Services have confirmed that federal laws for sex discrimination in health will now be applied on gay and transgender people too.

Joe Biden is now in favor of same-sex couples and LGBTQ community but once he was officially against it. Now this duality will either become bad-luck for Biden or a chance to get improved. That will be decided in future.
