Fans Petitions for Charlie Cox to Join MCU in Spiderman 3 After Snyder Cut Success

#SaveDaredevil has been trending on Twitter and other social media for a few months now. Fans want Charlie Cox to return as the superhero Daredevil and they have gone heights in hope of convincing Marvel Studios to make the return possible. The ardent fans have even started a petition urging the production company to introduce Cox as a Daredevil in the upcoming Spiderman: No Way Home.

Daredevil fans were inspired by the events of the fan campaign that led to the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Warner Bros even invested additional budget to give a proper vision to Snyder’s cut. The production company released a four-hour-long Justice League with the director’s original vision on HBO Max. The Snyder’s Cut was also available to download and stream on several VODs.

Warner Bros’ decision to work on Snyder’s Cut ended up being a successful investment. Fans were thrilled with the new version and the film received positive reviews along with increased viewership. The success had now led Daredevil fans to believe that fans can actually make such a huge difference. They have already started a petition to bring back Daredevil with over 420K signatures.

Daredevil in Spiderman 3: No Way Home

Netflix developed a Daredevil series but canceled after three seasons in 2018. The deal between Marvel and Netflix forbade Marvel Studios to work on the Daredevil project for at least two years. After the time limit completed, reports surfaced claiming that Charlie Cox would be appearing in the third Spiderman movie. Cox himself appeared in an interview with comicbook.com and revealed that there is no plan forward.

However, in early December 2020, Murphy’s Multiverse reported that Cox is indeed joined the upcoming Spiderman and has started filming. Later in January, comicbook.com again reported that Cox has completed his filming for the third Spiderman movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nothing official has been announced about his involvement, but fans are amazingly optimistic.
