‘Fast and Furious 9’: Release Date and Other Major Updates

The much loved action series ‘Fast & Furious’ is all set to release its 9th edition this year. Here’s all you need to know about it.

Release Date

Fast & Furious 9, the 9th edition of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise will make it to the big screens on 25 June. Earlier the film was scheduled to release (globally) in May 2020. But due the Covid-19 pandemic, the release date has been pushed to June 2021.

One of the lead actor of F9, Vin Diesel, shared the new release date via his official Instagram handle. “Finally! Blessed and grateful,” he captioned the clip.

The upcoming edition of the Fast & Furious franchise, F9 will feature WWE wrestler cum actor John Cena. Starcast also includes– Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.

Fast & Furious 9 is directed and co-written by Justin Lin with Daniel Casey. The plot of F9 will revolve around how Dominic Toretto and his crew join forces to battle the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered — his forsaken brother (according to internet sources).

Till date the actual plot of the film is unclear. Presumably, it will be a continuation of the previous part. With the addition of John Cena in the cast, it is even more exciting for the fans. However, the delay has caused trouble for the fans who were anticipating it’s the release date.

Releasing on 25 June, F9 is likely to make a buzz and make it to the headlines. The history of the action franchise has won quite a lot of praise and love. We can hope that the upcoming edition will continue its legacy. Till then we have to wait patiently for its release to see whether it makes up to our expectations or not.
