Google will be adding new features which will allow users to make changes to their Google Maps. Google Maps shall be updating their map experience for Google Map users to allow users to add missing roads and change it rename, or delete the wrong road names.
Google named the new feature as drawing but it is exactly similar to using the line tool in Microsoft Paint. The updated tool will be made available in more than 80 countries in the upcoming months.
New Features
Desktop Maps Editing Tool
When a user will see a road missing on maps.google.com, all they will need to do is that click on the side menu button, go to Edit the map, and select the option of Missing Road.
Google informing about a closed road
Google Maps will allow users to inform if a road is shut with the details such as the dates, reasons and another direction users can have access to, making sure that the suggestions and edits are correct.
Photo updates
Google Maps shall be getting a brand new feature called ‘photo updates’. This new update will enable users to share details about a place without leaving a full review. Inside the app, it will also be possible to add images of a location and also see the latest photos with text pieces sent by others.
The Company has announced that it will help local businesses in Google Search and Google Maps. People who are Andriod Users in the US will join the nationwide first challenge to provide help in order to review photos and updates.
In the upcoming weeks, The Company has said that it will bring out a new feature type in Google Maps, that is photo updates which will be an easy way to find and share experiences and highlights in the recent photographs.
A Google Map photo update is a recent screenshot of a place with a short text description without leaving a review or rating.
