What to Expect from the 2021 Oscars Nominations, and how to Watch

The Oscars awards are coming in April this year. The 2021 Oscars ceremony and schedule are not the same as the previous years, Usually, around this time the nominations and awards are out and the award winners are already revealed. But due to the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic created chaos in the film industry, halting production schedules, shutting multiplexes, and delaying movie releases.

But as the saying goes for the entertainment industry that the show must go on and award nights are no exception. The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony is been delayed until April. The eligibility period and rules have changed, due to the current circumstances.

For the 2021 Oscars, films that released from January 1, 2020, till February 28, 2021, are eligible for nominations including those that premiered in drive-ins or on OTT platforms because a theatrical release was not possible. The Oscars eligibility period is now extended by two months compared to the usual calendar year period.

When will the Nominations for Oscar 2021 announce?

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts shall be making the much-awaited announcement of the 2021 Oscar nominations on March 15 that is Monday. The Academy will shortlist the finalists from every category on this date. Movie fans can watch the announcement live stream on the Oscars website, or on social media pages of the awards which are Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

When will the ceremony take place and what will be the timings?

The 93rd Academy Awards Ceremony now has a new date in 2021, it will be premiering on Sunday, April 25, 2021, starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Daylight Saving Time / 8 p.m. EST Like always the ceremony itself will be commenced by red carpet arrival from 3:30 p.m. PDT / 6:30 p.m. EDT, though what that looks like in the times of Covid is yet to be seen, there will be some creative programming on behalf of producers of the event. As the event will surely see changes.

How to watch the awards Online?

In the US, the 2021 Oscars ceremony shall be broadcast live on ABC, showing live feeds from each of the in-person locations around the country. The audience will be able to view with ABC channel, online at the ABC website, or in the ABC app.

It will be available to stream on AT&T TV now, Hulu, and YouTube TV. 225 countries and worldwide will have their own broadcast arrangements for the awards night show. In the UK, the Oscars will be airing on BSkyB. In Canada, CTV/Bell Media will show the Oscars. In Australia, 7 Network will air the ceremony.
