The Information and Broadcasting Ministry published some guidelines and because of that, a rumor started that the Family Man season 2 has been canceled. The rumor also started because of the political nature of the show, and also the controversies around Amazon 2 Indian Shows, first was Tandav, and Second Mirzapur 2. Although the allegations on both the TV series were absurd and should have even happened.
This rumor was in the market for a long time when an article falsely claimed that the Family Man, as well as Patal Lok, has been canceled because of the new regulations passed by The Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
WHAT DID THE REPORTS/ ARTICLE SAID:
The reports and article which were circulating on the 8th of March suggested that IBM’s new guidelines around OTT platforms or independent creative artists who work in media are discretion and cautious. The article also gave two examples.
One was Tandav which met with a few allegations and controversies and also there were people who wanted to cancel it and the other was Mirzapur. Although the allegations of Tandav were absurd and rubbish, they also tried to cancel Mirzapur because Ali Fazal, who plays the main character of the show appeared in the protest of CAA-NRC.
WHAT DID THE CAST AND DIRECTORS OF THE SHOW CLARIFIED:
At last, the Cast of the show has come out and said to the audience that the reports are absurd and illogical and do not believe it. The show will be released on Amazon Prime. The directors of the show Raj & Dk also uploaded a post on Instagram saying to the audience to sit tight and wait for the show. Hopefully will be released this summer.
