Why Amazon changed their phone app logo?

After getting negative reviews from customers about its previous logo, e-commerce giant Amazon had to change it again.
The Amazon logo or phone app icon that had been updated this year in January looked like a packaging box over. Which was its trademark arrow symbol and what looked like a blue strip of tape.
Not long after the logo was changed, some reported that the blue-colored tape above the company’s signature smiling “arrow” logo , bore an eerie resemblance to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler’s controversial toothbrush mustache.
In the early 1900s, comedians like Charlie Chaplin popularised the toothbrush mustache until it became identified with Adolf Hitler. Before revealing the final design worldwide, Amazon modified the symbol. The new Amazon app icon looks like someone is ripping a folded piece of tape.
According to an Amazon spokeswoman, the company is constantly searching for new ways to satisfy its customers. “We built the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers begin their shopping journey on their phone. Just like they do when they see our boxes on their doorstep.” said The Verge.
Why Myntra had to change its app logo?
After critics said its logo was “offensive” to women, online fashion retailer Myntra was forced to change it. Here’s the backstory on the Myntra logo controversy.
To the untrained eye, the logo appears to be the letter M in various shades of pink and orange. But some activists called to cancel the brand because they thought it was insulting to women. Trolls on social media jumped on the outrage bandwagon, branding the logo “indecent and demeaning to women.”
Instead of giving their side of the story when the police asked Myntra for an explanation. Myntra decided to change the logo without hesitation. This gave rise to a meme fest on what logos or brands could be seen as offensive.
