Sasha Calle- First Latina To Star As Supergirl In New Movie ‘The Flash’

The Flash is the upcoming DC fantasy, action movie. It is to be released in 2022. It will be directed by Andrés Muschietti, a screenplay by Christina Hodson, Joby Harold, and executively produced by Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder.

The story revolves around Flash who meets Batman in parallel dimensions. It is rumored that this will be the first-ever movie that will have two Batman; Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton starring together.

Sasha Calle on Being Cast as Supergirl

Sasha could not control her tears when she got confirmed on her role as Supergirl in The Flash movie. Sasha Calle is the Emmy Nominated for ‘The Young & Restless’ actress who bagged the role after auditioning among 425 actresses for the role of Supergirl.

She will be the first Latina Supergirl ever in DC and also first make her debut in Warner Bros’ The Flash.

In an enthusiastic video posted on Instagram by Muschietti, Calle found out on camera that she has caught the part. The performing artist, who was in tears, said, “Little me would be like, ‘No way’. I’m probably not going to stop crying all day.”

Calle is an assignee of Stewart Talent, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, and Del Shaw Moonves.

In the DC media world, Supergirl was, to begin with, played by Helen Slater within the 1984 Warner Bros motion picture and afterward by Melissa Benoist on the Warner Bros TV show for 126 total episodes. Now Sasha is the new Supergirl on the team.
