PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)
Bluehole, a South Korean video game company subsidized a multiplayer online game. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was published by PUBG cooperation, and it was inspired by a Japanese movie Battle Royale. The game is about hundreds of player who land on an Island by parachute, the players have to kill other players and have to make sure to not get killed. The savage weapons help them to kill and protect themselves, the players who survive till the end, they win.
PUBG got banned in India
The game released in December 2017 on Microsoft Windows via Stream’s early access. Moreover, it was released by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox One via its Xbox Game Preview. Later in 2018, it was released in Androids, IOS, and PlayStation for free. It got popular among children and even youngsters. Around 70 million copies got sold on personal computers and game consoles by 2020. It becomes one of the Highest-selling, best-selling and most-played video games of all time.
Recently, the game got banned in India under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act of 2020. The act says that the GOI has a right to ban any application or content which threatens State security. Although it was banned, many people found a way to play the game with the help of many private networks. Will the GOI remove the ban on PUBG? It remains a big mystery.
