Anya Taylor Joy is a name you come across so often these days! She is an absolutely brilliant actress popular in “split”, “the queen’s gambit”, “peaky blinders” and so much more. Her roles are genuinely unique and raw.
Anya’s talent in acting has landed her the role of a younger “Furiosa” in an upcoming Mad max film. In this film, she will play the title role who was formerly played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road. Further, the film will follow the individual story of Furiosa and her origins much before she teams with Max (Tom Hardy) in Fury Road. Actors Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will also star in the film.
Charlize’s Replacement
Charlize Theron is, of course, the carrier of the story in mad max. Her role will be a tough one to replace as she was truly a badass in the entirety of the film. Anya Taylor recently talks about Theron and says, “I fell in love with Furiosa, the way that Charlize presented her. She did such an incredible job, and it was so beautiful, and I can’t even think about trying to step into her shoes. It has to be something different because it just can’t be done.”
Fans are obviously baffled by the news knowing that a spin-off will not have Charlize Theron in it. The actress herself is disappointed about not being able to return on set. It is a scary place for Anya to be in because of this added pressure. Nonetheless, it is exciting to see what Anya brings us in the upcoming film.
Until the “Furiosa” movie releases, let’s hope that Anya Taylor Joy can successfully redeem the character! With her impeccable talent, we’re sure she’ll bring something refreshing!
