The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 8 Ending Explained: A HEARTBREAKING End With SHOCKING Cameo

The Mandalorian Season 2 ended with a heartbreaking and thrilling finale episode. The final episode featured several good and emotional elements, including the unexpected cameo of Luke Skywalker. Mando teams up with Boba Fett, Fennac Shand, and Cara Dune to rescue the Child, Grogu from former Imperial commander, Moff Gideon. The Dark Troopers, in command from Gideon, kidnapped the Child in Chapter 14 — The Tragedy — on the ancient temple on Tython.

After separating with the Child and his ship, Razor Crest, Mando returned to Nevaaro to ask for help with Dune. He asked Dune, now a Marshal for New Republic to locate a criminal Migs Mayfeld and break him out of the prison. With the help of Mayfeld, the gang discovers the coordinates of Moff Gideon ship, where he kept the Child hostage. Din Djarin literally threatened Moff Gideon that he will be attacking hem and will be rescuing the Child.

The Mandalorain knows that it wouldn’t be easy to go against the army of Moff Gideon, especially when he has the army of dark troppers. Boba and Mando travels to meet Bo-Katan and Koska Reeves, and to ask for help to take down Moff Gideon. They agrees to help after Mando promises the dark-saber and helping hand to liberate Mandalore.

The team first kidnaps Dr. Pershing and uses his shuttle to enter Gideon’s ship cruiser. They successfully infiltrate the ship and Bo-Katan, Koska, Fennec, and Dune make way for Mando to rescue Grogu by fighting through Stromtroopers. However, Gideon realises and activates the Dark Troopers. Mando destroys one Dark Tropper before ejecting the rest to space. He then face-off with Gideon, ultimately defeating him and rescuing the Child.

The ejected Dark Troopers returns to the ship. When the Dark Troopers begins to attack the hand, a Jedi, whom Grogu contacted in Tython appears. The Jedi is none other than the legendary protagonist of original Star Wars trilogy, Luke Skywalker. Luke Skywalker defeats all the Dark Troppers and appears before the Child. Mando realising that the kid needs proper training gives the Child permission to go with Luke Skywalker.

That’s not it, the season officially concluded with exciting teaser for the upcoming season. Fennec Shand and Boba Fett invade Jabba the Hutt’s former palace on Tatooine. However, Jabba’s majordomo, Bib Fortuna took his place after his death at the hands of Leia Organa — the twin sister of Luke Skywalker. Boba guns down Fortuna and takes his throne, indicating that he is the new crimeboss of Tatooine.

 

Shortly after, a text appears that writes The Book of Boba Fett, Coming December 2021. This is certainly the teaser for the third season, as Disney already confirmed The Mandalorain Season 3 will premiere in December 2021.
