Recap of Episode 9
The preceding episode is titled ‘Terra Firma, Part 1’. The emperor Philippa Georgiou along with the mirror universe sets the important storyline of the episode. According to Kovich, travelling through space and time is what caused Georgiou’s condition.
In opposition to this theory, Discovery’s sphere data claims that the cure for Georgiou can be found on planet Dannus V. It is possible to find a cure even if it only means to increase her survival chance by 5%. Michael and Georgiou then go to Planet Dannus V to scavenge the “cure”.
On the planet, a man “Carl” mysteriously takes Georgiou back in time and space through a door. Now the emperor can change the past which may cause a change in the timeline. The episode ends with Georgiou freeing Michael from execution.
She spares the life of Michael and lets her free. By doing so, she has changed their fates. Episode 10 will further clear things up for the audience, so stay tuned!
