A look at how important it is to learn how to cook most elegantly. Something delicious, engaging, and worth chewing on? The twist is that it is all those things, but maybe not in the way you expect. The “Coldwater Kitchen” in the documentary’s title is a nice restaurant with exciting people, but it’s in prison.
“The Conspiracy” I don’t expect “relevance” from a movie about “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” and the supposed Jewish plot to take over the world. Maya and the Wave
Stephanie Johnes’s crowd-pleasing documentary has already been shown at TIFF and Rio de Janeiro, and now it’s coming to DOC NYC. The movie follows the world champion surfer Maya Gabeira through her ups and downs and tubular adventures as she tries to become the best. Is she against you? Maya deals with big waves, big egos, and a lot of big-time chauvinism with a mix of humor and seriousness.
