The Series 8 from Apple will likely be unveiled next week. When reviewing the Apple Watch Series 7 last fall, Engadget’s deputy reviews editor Cherlynn Low gave it a perfect score of 90. The Apple Watch was already a top choice among fitness trackers in 2021. The Series 7 is now on sale on Amazon. Let’s go through the article to learn more.
What will the new event behold?
Online retail behemoth Amazon has reduced the price of the Apple Watch Series 7 to $299 before Apple’s next event. Most importantly, Apple users are highly skeptical about purchasing Series 7. However, Apple is widely expected to reveal the Series 8 during its presentation on Wednesday.
Speculations reveal that the new smartwatch will not have any particularly significant improvements over its predecessor. It has been rumored that the Series 8 will ship with a new body temperature sensor that can alert you when you’re running a fever, but it won’t have a quicker processor or considerably better display.
Apple is also rumored to work on a new “Pro” version of the Apple Watch that will cost more than the base Series 8 versions. Only the 41mm GPS variant in Starlight is available in this series.
What is so special about Apple Watch Series 7?
As one of the greatest fitness trackers, the Apple Watch Series 7 received a 90/100 rating from Engadget’s Cherlynn Low. The Series 7 Apple Watch has a 20% larger display, faster charging, and respiratory tracking while you sleep. Series 7’s Always-On-Retin display is up to 70% brighter inside than Series 6’s, so you can see the watch face without moving your wrist or awakening the display, as reported by 9to5Mac.
The front crystal of the Apple Watch Series 7 has been rebuilt with a more robust shape, making it more than 50 per cent thicker and, therefore, more resistant to cracking than the Apple Watch Series 6. The smartwatch’s WR50 rating for water resistance and IP6X certification for resistance to dust makes it a great option for swimming competitions.
Some more about the Apple Watch 7 specification
Series 7 includes a variety of sensors, including an optical heart sensor, an in-built compass, a Digital Crown with haptic feedback, an always-on altimeter, a speaker, and a microphone. The smartwatch offers both a global emergency calling feature and an SOS feature. You can contact someone you know to help you in an emergency. The Series 7’s fall detection feature can automatically dial 911 if you’ve had a serious tumble, and the device’s Noise app will sound an alarm if the volume of outside noise rises to dangerous levels.
The Series 7 and Series 6 Apple Watches use the same processor. It may have a new moniker. However, it still consumes the same processing time. Apple’s latest Watch Series 5 shares the same processor performance as the S4 SoC, so this isn’t the company’s first attempt.
The Series 7 SiP is equipped with a 64-bit dual-core processor and 32GB of storage. The Series 6 chips are 20% quicker than the Apple Watch SE’s processor.
Is the watch on sale?
Amazon has marked down the price of the Series 7 wristwatch just days before Apple’s launch on September 7. The 41mm “Starlight” GPS model is now only $299, a $160 savings over its original price. Compared to its previous lowest price of $280 on Amazon Prime Day earlier this summer. Additionally, the $100 price cut offers the biggest discount on the 41mm model. Most other sizes and colors are sold out or unavailable.
