We lost one more Star Trek Member- Nichelle Nichols! She was best known for her role as Lieutenant Uhura. She will now be the latest member 1960s TV show to send her earthly ashes into space.
Nichelle Nichols’ Biography
Nichols died on July 30. She lived a life of 89 years. She is one of the first Black women to portray a strong character on network television. Additionally, she credits helping to dispel racial stereotypes. Undoubtedly, she redefines Hollywood roles for Black performers. It is at the height of the American Civil Rights Movement.
Addition to Passenger List
Nichols is now on the posthumous passenger list of a real rocketship. The rocketship transports DNA samples. Also, it transports a collection of vials containing the cremated remains. And it has dozens of deceased space enthusiasts around the sun for all eternity. There is no specific date for the launch.

James Doohan plays Star Trek chief engineer Scotty. Star Trek inventor Gene Roddenberry is also a Star Trek actor. Alternatively, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry plays nurse Christine Chapel on the show. Charles is the co-founder and CEO of Celestis. According to Charles Chafer, the 200+ capsules will enter the upper rocket stage. The 200+ capsules contain human remains and DNA.
Nichols’ NASA Employee
Kyle Johnson is Nichols’ son. So, Kyle said that it was a beautiful memorial for Nichols. NASA employed Nichols in the 1970s. It is to assist in the recruitment of more underrepresented groups and women. Also, she significantly harmed luring talent to the space agency. The first female astronaut from the United States was Sally Ride. Again, the first black astronaut was Mae Jemison. Also, the first black NASA administrator was Charlie Bolden.
