About Work in Progress
Work in Progress is an American comedy television series produced by Showtime that premiered on December 8, 2019. The series was created by Tim Mason and Abby McEnany, written and executive produced by McEnany, Mason, and Lily Wachowski, and directed by Mason. The second season premiered on August 22, 2021.
The series is about Abby, a 45-year old self-identified fat, queer dyke whose misfortune and despair unexpectedly lead her to a vibrantly transformative relationship. The entire series was filmed and post-produced in Chicago.
The seventh episode is titled ‘Oh Say Can You See’. In this episode, Abby and her family convene at her dad’s house to wait for news together. As they all turn to the important task of ordering delivery, watching massive amounts of TV, and avoiding the giant question mark hovering above everything, Abby’s reality starts to blur. It’s a matter of life and death again.
