Gina Carano Ban from Mandalorian Season 3 is Tanking Viewership on Disney+

Disney and LucasFilm fired the Mandalorian actress and former mixed martial artist, Gina Carano, after her controversial social media posts in early February. A new rumor suggests that following her firing from the House of Mouse, the OTT platform’s viewership is tanking since February. Carano’s fans previously defended and even started an online campaign to cancel Disney Plus.

The #CancelDisneyPlus trended on the internet for few weeks shortly after the production company fired Carano. Later, the passionate fans even threatened that they will be canceling their Disney Plus subscription after Disney decided to cut ties with the former MMA player. Gina Carano now will not be appearing in any future Star Wars project or the upcoming third season of the Mandalorian.

According to the report, the viewership used to be higher before Carano’s firing but has now fallen following the removal. For instance, the story claims that the Marvel Studios’ first-ever Disney Plus series, WandaVision had around 5 million views in one night. But, after the Mouse House removed the actress, the viewership reduced to only 2 million views per night.

The other report suggests that the new subscriptions are down by 63.9% after the removal. However, several reports refute the claim, mentioning that the report is entirely made-up and anti-Disney. In reality, the streaming service is doing really great and it is really growing greatly than expected. The numbers with WandaVision are in fact real, as it was slow during the initial episodes.

However, the number quickly increased after the fifth episode and even topped the global streaming charts. Until the ninth episode of the series, the show continued topping the streaming charts around the world. Disney+ recently released another Marvel Studios series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which further broke records and became the most viewed premiere in the streaming service’s history.
